Notes
  • Significance: The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center was designed by James Ingo Freed of Pei Cobb Freed and Partners. The Indiana limestone exterior complements the appearance of, and materials used in, those structures located nearby, but the interior framework of stone, steel and glass reflects a contemporary aesthetic. Notable features include the 10-story rotund and cone-shaped skylight. Three works of art were commissioned for the building; winning designs were submitted by Martin Puryear, Keith Sonnier, and Stephen Robin. Puryear's sculpture is a 40' tall hammered bronze piece entitled "Bearing Witness."
