| Description |
English: The junction of Baring Road and Tuttons Hill, Cowes, Isle of Wight, on the Friday of Cowes Week 2010. The firework display had finished, and so the usual crawl of cars out of Cowes had begun. Traffic is slow moving, but does steadily progress, especially as traffic management systems have been put in place in recent years. One example of traffic management is here at the Round House. Access between Tuttons Hill and Park Road is blocked off. Cars coming from Park Road have to head to Newport via Place Road, and car coming from Baring Road have to go down Tuttons Hill and are diverted to Newport via Gurnard. This seems to work quite well, as before this idea was introduced all the roads leading to the junction queued back for ages, and different streams of traffic came into conflict. |
