Notes
  • Significance: The property is architecturally significant as a well-preserved large-scale department store building. The Art Deco building represents the top-of-the-line store in the Sears, Roebuck and Company national retail chain. It is a legacy of the retail development of downtown Spokane and its position as a regional retail center. In addition to being one of the few remaining Art Deco buildings in Spokane, it is also the best preserved example of an Art Deco Sears store in the state of Washington. And, as such, is an important example of a nationally promulgated design.
  • Survey number: HABS WA-194
