DE EERSTE OVERLEVENDEN VAN DE "SIMON BOLIVAR"; Weekjournaal van Polygoon Hollands Nieuws van week 47 uit 1939.; De aankomst van enkele overlevenden van de ramp met het passagiersschip de "Simon Bolivar" op Schiphol en te Vlissingen. Het schip liep op 18 november nabij de Engelse kust op een zeemijn, waarna het zonk. SHOTS: - taxiënd KLM-vliegtuig de "Zilverreiger" ("PH-ARZ"); - aantal zusters diaconessen en heer stappen uit toestel en worden verwelkomd; - journalisten schrijven in notitieboekjes, terwijl non met geestelijke praat; - aankomst schip de "Oranje Nassau" te Vlissingen, waarna passagiers (eveneens overlevenden van scheepsramp) van boord gaan en door mensen op de wal worden begroet.
