De Boeing Stratocruiser voor het eerst op Schiphol; Weekjournaal van Polygoon Hollands Nieuws van week 36 uit 1949.; Het 'vlaggeschip' van de American Overseas Airlines, de Boeing 'Stratocruiser', een zeer groot passagiersvliegtuig, bezoekt Schiphol. Met een aantal Nederlandse genodigden maakt het vliegtuig een vlucht boven Nederland. SHOTS: - Vliegtuig staat op het platform; grote publieke belangstelling op een afstandje achter een hek; - shots vliegtuig: oa motoren, vleugelspanwijdte, neus, neuswiel, passagierscabine op bovendek, bar op benedendek, instrumentenpaneel in de cockpit; - genodigden komen aan boord, oa de burgemeester van Amsterdam, A.J. d'Ailly, en de minister van Verkeer en Waterstaat, D.G.W. Spitzen; - vliegtuig taxiet weg, start en landt; - shots tijdens de vliegtocht: passagiers in de cabine; uitzicht uit de ramen op de vleugel tijdens opstijgen; luchtopnames van havenstad en andere grote stad; piloten in de cockpit.
