De Franeker verongelukt; Weekjournaal van Polygoon Hollands Nieuws van week 29 uit 1949.; De KLM-Constellation 'Franeker' (gezagvoerder M. van der Vaart), op weg van Batavia naar Amsterdam boven India verongelukt. Aan boord bevinden zich oa dertien bekende Amerikaanse journalisten die, op uitnodiging van de Nederlandse regering, een bezoek hebben gebracht aan Indonesië. Bij Ghatkopar raakt het toestel, bij het aanvliegen van het vliegveld van Bombay, met een vleugel een heuveltop en stort neer. Alle inzittenden komen om het leven. SHOTS: - Amerikaanse krantenkoppen maken melding van de dood van de journalisten; - shots van de journalisten in Indonesië; - cu's van vier van de journalisten: H.R. Knickerbocker, William Newton, Elsie Dick, Charles Grate (Gratke?) en Bertram Hulen; - vliegtuigwrak op de grond; ARCHIEFMATERIAAL: Gezagvoerder M. van der Vaart arriveert op Schiphol.
