English: Doncaster ECML: northward from Frenchgate Bridge, 1992. View northward from the A638 (North Bridge Road) bridge at Marshgate Junction on the ex-GNR East Coast Main Line. Below is the River Don New Cut and ahead the ex-GN&GC Joint lines to Goole and Hull/Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Cleethorpes diverge to the right. The ex-GNR line to Wakefield, Leeds and Bradford veers off to the left and crossing in the distance is the ex-GCR Doncaster Avoiding Line. Electrification (Doncaster - York/Leeds) reached here in 1989 |
