English: American church minister, later Professor of Philosophy of Yale University and an early American psychologist George Trumbull Ladd gained international significance through delivering a series of lectures on education in Japan, that were attended by the then leaders of the country. His ideas helped Japan create the education system that in a longer run put Japan on equal footing with Western powers.
