The train was the 'Pines Express', 09.25 Bournemouth West to Liverpool/Manchester, here headed by BR Standard 5MT 4-6-0 No. 73051. (Gloucester Cathedral can just be glimpsed on the extreme right. It is still there in 2010, but everything else in the picture has been swept away in the past 35 years). |
