English: Gospel Oak station, 1993. View westward, towards Willesden Junction and Richmond: ex-LNWR (North London) Broad Street - Willesden Junction - Watford Junction/Richmond lines, also terminus (since 1981) of the service from Barking via South Tottenham (Tottenham & Hampstead Junction, Midland & GE Joint). The North London lines had been (two tracks on four-track sections) were electrified in 1916 on a 660 volt DC fourth-rail system, altered in the 1970s to 750 volt DC third-rail: subsequently, from April 1988 most routes have been converted to 25 kV overhead electric working, but this did not occur at Gospel Oak until at least 1996. Over on the right is a DMU that has arrived from Barking. Much has altered since 1993, especially since 2011, with the development of London Overground. |
