Français : Un << Gotha >> dernier modèle, exposé devant la statue Jean Bart a Dunkerque. Dans l'après-midi et la nuit du 25 janvier 1918, Dunkerque, tout en subissant le tir direct d'une pièce de 380, n'a pas été bombardé moins de trois fois par les avions allemande. Mais ces attaques coûtèrent deux appareils à l'ennemi : un avion de chasse abattu par un de nôtres et un gros << Gotha >> de bombardement, au camouflage pittoresque, qui, touché par notre artillerie anti-aérienne, alla s'abattre sur la côte de Zuydcoote; les trois aviateurs qui le montaient furent capturés avant d'avoir pu mettre le feu à l'appareil qui est maintenant exposé à Dunkerque.
English: A <<Gotha>> latest model, exposed in front of the statue Jean Bart in Dunkirk. In the afternoon and night of January 25, 1918, Dunkerque, while under direct fire from an artillery piece 380, was not less than three times bombed by German planes. But these attacks cost the enemy two airplanes: a fighter shot down by one of ours and a large <<Gotha>> bomber, with colorful camouflage, which, hit by our anti-aircraft artillery, went down at Zuydcoote coast, the three airmen that flew the plane were captured before they could set fire to the airplane which is now exposed at Dunkerque. |
