Description
English: An outdated, and very non-MUTCD compliant No Littering sign unique to the Town of Brookhaven in New York telling motorist and others not to thrown their trash around or else face a $500 fine along Bartlett Road across from the Spring Lake Golf Course, in Middle Island, New York. The sign is said to be authorized by the Town of Brookhaven Highway Superintendent Harold H. Malkmes, however Malkmes hasn't been on the town board since 2000, and died in 2011. This photo was taken in November 2019. Plus, this color scheme predates the long-standing administration of Superintendent Malkmes, who was in power dating back to the 1966.
