Description
Français : Dans les dernières années du conflit, les zones reprises progressivement aux Allemands - en général du fait d'un paysage géographiquement compartimenté, une dizaine ou une vingtaine de villages... - étaient placées sous une sorte de protectorat militaire français pour éviter désordres et exactions. C'est ainsi que les territoires de Thann, Masevaux et Saint-Amarin furent confiés à un administrateur autochtone, originaire de Thiaucourt, (Jean)-Henry Poulet, né le 16 février 1874 d'une famille de magistrats, et ayant déjà exercé plusieurs hautes fonctions politiques de 1899 à 1913. Mobilisé en 1914, le Capitaine puis Commandant Poulet fut désigné Administrateur, Chef de Mission Militaire Administrative de ce petit coin d'Alsace libéré. Il accomplit cette charge avec beaucoup de générosité et d'humanité : il s'attira ainsi l'affection et la gratitude des habitants.
