Notes
  • Significance: Almost 85' in height, the cylindrical tower with arched openings at its base traditionally has been associated with Viking explorers. More likely it dates to the colonial period and was the stone windmill constructed by Governor Benedict Arnold; the wood superstructure was gone by 1740. It later served as a powder magazine and a hay mow.
  • Survey number: HABS RI-103
  • Building/structure dates: ca. 1665 Initial Construction
