  • Significance: ...there have been no historical events of importance connected with the house, but because it is typical and centrally located, it could have served as the setting for many of the stories of the Vieux Carre. ... This building is interesting because it is a typical example of the French and Spanish colonial houses that served the purpose of both business on the ground floor and dwelling in the upper portion. The interest is enhanced by its having suffered very little from repairs or alterations, and it retains many of the original details.
