Description Holden HK Brougham sedan. Taken at the National Holden Museum in Echuca Victoria. This car is the 2,000,000th Holden produced. The Brougham was the top trim level of the Holden range. It was Holden's first attempt to compete with Ford's long wheelbase Fairlane. The Brougham was basically a top of the range Premier sedan with an extended boot, intended to create a longer car like the Fairlane, however the Fairlane's extra length was in the wheelbase, giving greater leg room for the rear seat passengers, something the Brougham could not offer. This one is fitted with the 5 litre V8, as indicated by the badge on the front guard.
