Hr ms "Tjerk Hiddes" weer thuis; Weekjournaal van Polygoon Hollands Nieuws van week 40 uit 1949.; Na twee jaar dienst te hebben gedaan in de Indonesische wateren arriveert de torpedobootjager 'Tjerk Hiddes' in de haven van Rotterdam. Op de kade wuiven verwanten als het schip aankomt. Na het aanleggen vinden herenigingen plaats met vrouwen en kinderen.
