Notes
  • Significance: Building T-1045 is a Combination Standard Hospital Ward, Type W-2, with a 26 bed capacity. This type of ward provided for the seriously ill, and the isolation of these patients, as compared to the standard ward which was intended for noncontagious and convalescent patients. There are 12 such buildings in the hospital area; two to these wards were reserved for the treatment of medical officers (i.e., doctors and nurses), the rest housed contagious disease and acute respiratory patients. Rooms 5 and 6 on Plan 700-463 were combined in use as either ward room and bath or G.U. (genito-urinary) clinic.
  • Survey number: HABS WI-308-BL
  • Building/structure dates: 1942 Initial Construction
