Description
English: BER 49-159-001 The Berlin Blockade, 1949. British troops queue outside the Jerboa Cinema, Reichskanzler Platz, where the singer Anne Shelton was due to perform on 4 May 1949. During the Airlift, only one entertainer was allowed to visit British forces in Berlin. Anne Shelton was chosen by popular vote. She flew to Berlin on one of the Airlift's transport aircraft along with a cargo of fuel and food. During a three day visit, she performed 12 shows.
