This is a detailed map of Japan. Western lalitudes and longitudes are used. But Hokkaido is not included on the map
The preface was written by Shiba Kunihiko. The cartographer, Nagakubo Genshu, he said, traveled and gatherd information for twenty years before producing this map
One written insert describes the tides. The tides ae named Kii, Tsukashi, Akaishi, and Northern
A second written insert gives the meaning of the symbols which are found on the map. There are symbols for the Dukedom, the Prefecture, Cities, Towns, Sight-seeing places, Ancient battle fields, Harbors, Boundary lines of the Dukedoms, and the Roads
A third written insert is a preface. The author of the preface. Shiba Kunihiko, describes the purpose of the map
