Description
Deutsch: Krauss & Co. (mechanischer Teil) und Siemens-Schuckertwerke (elektrischer Teil), München 1910. Motor: 155-Volt-Drehstrommotor, Leistung: 3PS, Höchstgeschwindigkeit: 10 km/h. "Sie fuhr auf einer Strecke von 400 Metern und war einzigartig in Deutschland: die unbemannte Post-U-Bahn. Von 1910 bis 1988 verband sie den Münchner Hauptbahnhof mit dem Postamt an der Hopfenstraße. Eine Lokomotive berförderte vier mit Briefsendungen gefüllte Wagen. Bis zu zehn Züge pro Stunde fuhren durch den Tunnel. 1966 wurden die Loks und die Wagen noch einmal erneuert. Erst mit der Schließung des alten Postamts 1988 wurde diese U-Bahn-Verbindung eingestellt." Museum für Kommunikation Nürnberg
