Description
Français : Eugène Courvasier est originaire d'Indre-et-Loire. Avant-guerre, il est boulanger dans l'Eure où il vit avec son épouse, Marie Cardin. Ils ont une fille, née en 1913. Une autre fille née en 1915 ; ils auront quatre autres enfants après-guerre.

Eugène Courvasier appartient à un régiment de zouaves. Il est envoyé sur le front d'Orient, à Salonique. Il est blessé à une jambe par un coup de pied de mule et est rapatrié en France pour être soigné au Val-de-Grâce où il restera plus d'un an. Il n'aurait pas été réaffecté après sa guérison et a souffert toute sa vie de cette blessure. Pendant le conflit, son épouse travaille dans un hôpital militaire à Evreux.

Eugène Courvasier a repris son travail de boulanger après-guerre. Les lettres et cartes qu'il a écrit pendant la guerre sont conservés par un de ses descendants vivant en région parisienne.
