Met de KLM via Khartoem en Mauritius naar Batavia; Weekjournaal van Polygoon Hollands Nieuws van week 15 uit 1949.; India, Pakistan en Ceylon hebben, als reactie op het optreden van Nederland in Indonesië (politionele acties), hun vliegvelden gesloten voor KLM-vliegtuigen. De KLM heeft daardoor een andere vliegroute naar Nederlands-Indië moeten opzetten. Er wordt nu langs een omweg vanaf Schiphol naar Batavia gevlogen, nl via tussenstops op Khartoum en Mauritius. Ipressie van een dergelijke vliegreis. SHOTS: - div. shots van div. starts en landingen van een KLM-Constellation op enkele vliegvelden (shots van de vliegvelden zelf en de omgeving); - luchtopnamen: wolken, oceaan, landschappen ed; - div. shots ext. vliegtuig tijdens de vlucht en bij tussenlandingen op vliegvelden; - div. shots int. vliegtuig: passagiers kijken naar buiten, krijgen een maaltijd geserveerd, liggen te slapen; bemanning aan het werk: piloten aan de stuurknuppel, boordwerktuigkundige achter instrumentenpaneel, marconist seint in morse met een seinsleutel.
