Montauk Downs State Park Montauk, New York.

Summary edit

Description
English: Front doorways to the clubhouse of Montauk Downs State Park in Montauk, New York. Off to the left is a handicapped-accessible ramp. The original building was just another structure built by Carl Graham Fisher and designed by Herbert Charles Tippet as part of his plan to turn Montauk into "Miami Beach of the north" before the Great Depression drove him to bankruptcy, and was burned in a fire. The current version was designed by Robert Trent Jones in 1966 then sold to the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation in 1978.
