DescriptionMuseum in a former signalbox at Llandrindod Wells railway station - geograph.org.uk - 3565841.jpg |
English: Museum in a former signalbox at Llandrindod Wells railway station. The town council website states that the signalbox, known as No 2 box, was originally located at the nearby level crossing. It was dismantled and relocated here, on the site formerly occupied by No 1 box. British Rail handed it over to the town council at a ceremony during Victorian Week in 1990. Since then the council has opened it for limited periods during the summer. More than a century old, the box contains many of its original furnishings and machinery. It is very popular with visitors, particularly during Victorian Week, and with the many railway buffs arriving on special steam trains. |
