| Description |
English: I finally managed to photograph one of these! N16WAL (5516) is an interesting old bus, a DAF SB220 with an Ikarus Citibus body. These are becoming increasingly rare now. This example here is still in the previous Damory Coaches turquoise livery. There is one other of these models still in service with Damory, N15WAL.
I am a big fan of these old buses, and hope they can survive on for a bit longer although that is looking unlikely due to Damory's increasingly large fleet of newer low floor Optare Solos which are displacing step entrance buses like these. Here this bus is on the 309 service (where it should be seeing as it's branded for this route) to Blandford, seen passing over the crossroads in Gillingham heading to the Railway Station. The bus was new to Wall's of Sharston and was previously part of the Wilts & Dorset fleet. |
