English: Down iron ore train entering Newport. View eastward, on the ex-GW main lines towards Maindee Junctions/Hereford/Shrewsbury, Severn Tunnel Junction/Gloucester etc./Swindon etc./Bristol etc. Running on the Down Through line, the class H train is headed by ex-WD 2-8-0 No. 90672 of Woodford Halse. Built as No. 79204 in 10/44 and shipped to France (Rouen) within a month, it returned to England in 1947 and was loaned to the LNER (Annesley) from 10/47, as 90672 remaining on the ex-GC/LNER until withdrawn in 5/64. |
