Summary edit

Description
English: Quick video shot of the former U-Turn in the widened divider along Southern State Parkway west of Belmont Lake State Park in West Babylon, New York. The divider becomes wider and lined with trees beginning just west of the bridges under Little East Neck Road in West Babylon, and just east of the bridges under Belmont Avenue at Exit 37N in Belmont Lake State Park. The U-Turn was apparently used in the event that drivers didn't want to go to the park. Today, it's used primarily as a speed trap for New York State Troopers, and occasionally Suffolk County Police Officers. According to some topographical maps, a second one existed west of here to go in the opposite direction until the parkway was widened during the 1950's and early-1960's.
