Summary edit

Description

English: Reaction scheme: poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) (polyphenylene oxide, PPO) obtained by the oxidative polycondensation on 2,6-xylenol (2,6-dimethylphenol, DMP) in the presence of a copper(I) salt-amine complex catalyst and oxygen. Amine shown is pyridine. A small amount of undesired diphenoquinone forms by dimerization.
Deutsch: Schema der Polykondensation: Herstellung von PPO.
