English: A close-up of Pele's hair at Halema‘uma‘u. Pele's hair is abundant around Halema‘uma‘u Crater, and originates from the active, spattering lava lake. In certain areas there is a nearly continuous carpet of Pele's hair, which is highlighted in the afternoon sun.
