English: Platform for northbound departures, Abercynon railway station
Viewed past the edge of a disused signalbox. The two platforms at the station are not numbered. This platform is for arrivals from the south and departures to the north, along either the Aberdare line or the Merthyr Tydfil line. Abercynon station was previously named Aberycon South. Located about 250 metres away was Abercynon North station. After major work in 2008, all services were transferred here to Abercynon South, which was renamed Abercynon. Abercynon North station was closed down. |
