Merchant's Exchanging Building from 3rd Street looking southeast towards Walnut Street. This building serves at the headquarters/office of Independence National Historical Park. The sign on the left side of the image is a marker indicating the former location of the Treasurer's Office Site. It reads, "Treasurer's Office Site. During the 1790s, in a house on this site, the Treasurer of the United States kept careful records of all moneys received and spent by the new federal government."
