Description
Français : Cultivateur à Prix-lès-Mézières (Ardennes), Paul Briffoteaux s'est engagé au 3e régiment de cuirassiers en janvier 1901. Une carrière militaire exemplaire pour ce brigadier promu sous-officier en 1918. Cité à l'ordre du régiment et obtenu la croix de guerre "pour avoir assurer, le 6 avril 1918, une liaison en traversant une zone violemment battue par les mitrailleuses ennemies". Une distinction renouvelée lors de la Seconde guerre mondiale au cours de laquelle Paul Briffoteaux s'est particulièrement distingué en tant que membre du secteur des Forces françaises de l'intérieur de Vouziers. Il est décédé le 13 décembre 1963 à Vouziers, ville natale de son épouse Jeanne Simon.
