Circle Line tour at sunset. Manhattan is on the left, and the Bronx is on the right. That bridge is the Henry Hudson Parkway (9A) with the Hudson River just beyond. This is near the only part of Manhattan that's not on the Island. <a href="http://www.forgotten-ny.com/STREET SCENES/marblehill/marble.html" rel="nofollow"> Marble Hill</a> to the right of this photo was separated from the Island when they built a canal across that spit of land in 1895. The Canal connected the Bronx River directly with Spuytin Duyvil Creek making Marble Hill a tiny island, and eventually the upper part of the Bronx River above Marble Hill was filled in. <a href="http://www.joiseyshowaa.com" rel="nofollow">www.joiseyshowaa.com</a> |
