Notes
  • Significance: This was the residence of the Parish minister for Vauters Church and Saint Matthews. / Nothing is known of the date of the building. The brickwork of the exterior has an early aspect but the detail of the interior looks later. It might be the house was built c. 1740-50 and was burned and retrimmed c. 1765-70, however there is little evidence of this and the date may be assumed to be c. 1760. The history is also obscure but the name implies that it was built as a glebe house, a rectory, for St. Anne's Parish.
  • Survey number: HABS VA-232
  • Building/structure dates: ca. 17t2 Initial Construction
