TIGHT LACING.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE FAMILY DOCTOR

Sir,-I am anxious to corroborate the sentiments of your numerous correspondents upon tight lacing. I have worn stays since I was seventeen years of age, and must attribute my good health and comfort to having been a moderate tight lacer for many years, and have never found the slightest inconvenience or ill effect from wearing stays, and the amount of pleasure and comfort caused is inconceivable to those who have not tried them.

I go a little further than any of your correspondent up to now, as I wear in addition to the corset, a combination garment, bustle and bust improver, and in winter a flannel petticoat and knickerbockers.

I wear very voluminous dark trousers and loose coats consequently do rot excite surprise or observation I wear the corset both by day and night, of course, of different make and material, as I should feel very uncomfortable without them, and could not possibly go without them in the daytime, I may add that I have upon special occasions assumed the entire garb, and have never felt happier or more comfortable than when so attired, much more so than in my own uncomfortable attire. I trust you will shortly insert this.-I am. Sir, yours faithfully,
