Notes
  • 1996 Charles E. Peterson Prize, Entry
  • Significance: The Union Church in Earlysville, Virginia is one of the few unaltered frame churches in Albemarle County built to house multidenominational congregations. A religious and community center sine 1833, on land deeded by John Early, the Union Church originally had an open plan and housed Baptist, Presbyterian, and Methodist groups. By the turn of the century partition walls were added to form Sunday school and vestry rooms.
