  • Significance: 606 South Eighteenth Street is significant within the context of the Russell National District which was listed in 1980. This structure is typical of shotgun houses that were built throughout this particular neighborhood during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This house and its neighbor to the south are quite similar in facade arrangements and basic floor plans indicating a series of this type of house in this specific portion of the neighborhood. A variety of architectural period styles were utilized to distinguish individual houses. The Italianate was a frequently used style in this Historic District.
