Description
Deutsch: Die Wasserkuppe, mit 950 Meter über Normalnull der höchste Berg von Hessen und der Rhön, bei minus zehn Grad Celsius Lufttemperatur und etwa zwanzig Zentimeter Schnee. In der linken Bildhälfte die letzte von ehemals fünf Radarkuppeln auf der Wasserkuppe, die im Jahre 1994 mit einer Höhe von 24 und einem Durchmesser von 19 Metern errichtet wurde. Im Jahre 1998 wurde sie außer Betrieb genommen und dient seit 2009 als Aussichtspunkt mit umlaufender Aussichtsplattform. In der rechten Bildhälfte ein Rapsöl-Blockheizkraftwerk.
English: The Wasserkuppe is the highest point in the German Land of Hesse and the mountain range of Rhön. Picture taken at a temperature of -10 °C and under 20 cm of snow. On the left, a disused RADAR station, now a panorama platform.
