Description
English: William Thomas Turner (1856-1933), Captain of the RMS Lusitania, which was torpedoed and sunk by the German U-boat U20 on 7 May 1915. This photo of Captain Turner was actually taken on the bridge of the liner RMS Aquitania in 1914, on or shortly after that ship's maiden voyage. Turner was Commodore of the Cunard Line by this time, having already commanded the Lusitania and the Mauretania.
