| Description |
English: Wilts & Dorset 402 (HF54 KXU), a Volvo B7TL/East Lancs Myllennium Vyking. It was on loan to Southern Vectis at the time, and is seen in Carvel Lane, Cowes, Isle of Wight, at the Co-op bus stop on route 1. It was Cowes Week at the time, so larger buses were being run on route 1 as duplicates. Cowes Pontoon (Red Jet Terminal) was not being served after 10am each day during Cowes Week, buses turning instead at the Co-op, so the use of buses that could not fit onto the Pontoon was not an issue. While 402's sisters (401, 403 & 404), had already returned to the mainland by now, 402 had blown its engine. It had been fixed in the weeks before Cowes Week, so it was decided the bus would do an "easy" week of duplicates to help run its new engine in. |
