| Description |
English: A photo of the gas main renewal roadworks in Guildford Road, Woking, Surrey, in late August 2009. At the time, the roadworks to replace the gas pipes were on the other side of the road to where I was standing while taking the photo, and to the right of the photo. They had just got to the point where they had reduced the width of the road where the secondary turn around the end of the one way system (for traffic coming out of Heathside Road) is, meaning there was not enough room for large vehicles to swing around properly. As seen here, a "no entry for buses and HGVs" sign was put up, with a diversion set up to send large vehicles all the way down to the roundabout at the end of Egley Road/Guildford Road, and back up again, which is a considerable distance just for one turn. |
