Description
Deutsch: Der Bergmann vom Meißner

Der Bergknappe im Habitus der damaligen Zeit, in der rechten Hand das Geleucht, ein sog. Ölfrosch, auf der linken Schulter die Keilhaue, so verlässt er nach der Schicht, müde den Stollen.
Dieses Denkmal 2003 errichtet zum Gedenken an 400 Jahre Bergbau auf Braunkohle auf dem Meißner. Besonders aber in Erinnerung an die im Berg gebliebenen Knappen und zum Gedächnis an 10 Generationen von Menschen, die einst im Berbau Schwalbental lebten und im Berg gearbeitet haben. Das Denkmal ist 1,2 t schwer. Es besteht aus einer Vielzahl von Eichenblöcken, die miteinander verleimt sind. Nach einem Entwurf von Harry Träger und Marco Lenarduzzi wurde es in mühevoller Arbeit in der Kreativwerkstatt der VHS Witzenhausen von dem Holzbildhauer Viktor Donhause und Sohn Ilja geschaffen.
