Genetically different frog embryos developing in eggs of one species, Xenopus laevis: a diploid laevis x laevis is shown on the top, cleaving and entering gastrulation about 50 min earlier than haploid [laevis] x laevis embryos (middle) and cybrid [laevis] x tropicalis (bottom) embryos. A co-author of the video, John Gurdon, receives the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine today, jointly with Shinya Yamanaka.
