In 2016, we began a discussion around what Wikimedia will look like in 2030. The aim was to identify a common, strategic direction that would unite and inspire people across our movement. Our shared vision is of “a world in which every single human being can freely share in the sum of all knowledge.” Wikimedia Strategy draft direction was first published in August 2017.
