My name is Elmer B. Domingo, I'm a hobbyist photographer and a newbie blogger from Pasig City, Philippines. I've been interested with taking pictures since college; however, I purchased my first camera only in 2010. It was a Canon A495 digital camera. I've used it extensively on my blog which I setup in the same year.

In December 2011, I purchased my 2nd camera which is a Canon EOS 1100D. Since then, I've attended almost all the Canon Photoskwela Workshops that was organized by Canon Marketing Philippines for new owners of DSLR cameras. I also attended a one-day photography workshop by Winston Baltasar in March 2012.

The first major photography contest that I joined was the Luzon Leg of the Canon Photomarathon 2012 held at Villa Escudero, San Pablo, Laguna. My beginner's luck didn't kick in but I was very grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a momentous event. I've also joined the recent Make It Makati Photo Contest as a way to improve my skill and to develop my sense of composition, which is the most important aspect in taking a picture.

I also attended a workshop conducted by Jiggie Alejandrino and George Tapan (during the 7th Anniversary of Pinoy Photography) and I consider them as my idols in the field of photography. I learned to compose my picture in the camera itself to minimize cropping. I also learned to be true to the colors of my subject the way I see it with my eyes. I use Photoshop only to crop my pictures and Picasa to put watermark on it. Like George Tapan, I aspire to be a photographer for the National Geographic because their pictures are Photoshop-free.

In the recent Wiki Loves Monuments event, I've submitted some of my pictures and I was delighted to know that 3 of my pictures appeared in the Wikipedia article about the SM Mall of Asia. I consider it as one of the greatest thing that happened to my photography career. I also joined the Nayon Photographers' Club to learn from professional photographers. This is one of the oldest photography clubs in the country and is a current member of the Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation (FPPF). I also dream of contributing to their vast collection of excellent photographs and I also aspire to be included in their coffee table book.

I'm also a member of the photography group called Fotograpika Manila. We have 4 members (me included) and we came from the same class of Winston Baltasar. We already have some successful photo-shoots to date although these are all ex-deal. I haven't been paid to do a photo-shoot yet. Our group aims to be competitive when it comes to glamour photo-shoots and hopefully, we could also do wedding and events photography.

Aside from my Canon EOS 1100D, the two other camera accessories I have is my Benro tripod and my Yongnuo external flash (which doesn't even have ETTL). I'm planning to purchase the umbrella and stand combination for a more beautiful glamour and portrait pictures. I'm also planning to spend my 13th month pay on a zoom lens so that I could take more pictures of events. I’ll tell you about my blogging career next time. Thanks for reading my short profile.
