Dr. Carol Ventura worked with a weaving cooperative as a Peace Corps volunteer in Jacaltenango, Guatemala, from 1976 to 1980. She returned again in 1986 to research Jakaltek crafts for her dissertation. Carol is currently the art history professor at Tennessee Technological University. Her interest in art, crafts, and history have led her to find and document craftspeople around the world, many of which are featured on her home page. Most of her publications feature wood, fiber, glass, clay, and metal crafts and their makers. She is also a photographer and an artist.
