The Hot Rain Band is a reggae group that was formed in 2004 in Oahu, Hawaii. Their sound is a blend of Jamaican yard-style beats with Pacific island roots. As far as sound similarities, their music would likely turn up on a variety of Padora stations like Bob Marley, Slighty Stoopid, Gregory Isaac, Iration, Fiji and J-Boog .

History: The band was first formed in 2000 by lead singer and guitarist Carl Noa (@captcako) as a contemporary Hawaiian band and later reformed in 2003 with a brand new sound and new supporting members. Bassist Blane Mateo (@masturbassist) and drummer Leslie Ludiazo (@bimwala13) joined the group in 2003. Vocalist and keyboard player Chris Rodriguera (@chrisreezy) joined in 2004.

Their album Self-Titled was released in November 2011 by Afflatus Entertainment. The album consist of fifteen tracks written and produced by the band and features tracks with international recording artist J-BOOG courtesy of Wash House Music. The album also features vocals by temporary band member and vocalist Chritine Mateo.

Self-Titled debuted on both local and national charts peaking at eight on the Reggae Billboard Chart and won a Na Hoku Hanohano Award in 2012 for Best Engineering on an album.
