Langton's ant inside a box. This animation shows how the ant's path is blocked, but it passes the barrier and continues with its highway pattern. It is thought that this would happen eventually after any path interruption. -
Example of a "spacefiller" pattern in Conway's Game of Life. The centre line's green channel increases in intensity from 0 to 255 so red becomes yellow by generation 255. After that the blue channel increases from 0 to 255 so yellow becomes white by generation 510. -
