Hello! I live in Tatebayashi city,Gunma Prefecture,Japan which locates in the north of the Kanto plains. I am interested in the culture and nature of Ryomo area. This area consists of the east of Gunma prefecture and the west of Tochigi Prefecture. Nikko and Ashio mountains and Tone,Watarase river make a cultivated and rich land. We can crop wheat in early summer and rice in late autumn at the same field. This is called Ni-Mou-Saku(二毛作),and the chinese character Mou(毛) is also used in this area's ancient name 毛野国(Ke-No-Kuni). This coincidence shows that this area was rich from ancient age.
